Abstract

Robert Gentry's New Redshift Interpretation (NRI) is one of several proposed creationary cosmologies. In defending the NRI, Gentry claims that the standard interpretation of cosmic redshifts is badly in error. In particular, he argues that cosmologists' purported "cessation assumption" is falsified by operation of the GPS. This article examines the nature of various types of redshifts in order to evaluate his claim. It concludes that his claim is incorrect.
