Abstract
This article argues for a global "Canopy Factor" that profoundly influenced Earth's climate and geological processes throughout most of its history. Cyr contrasts this theory with the findings of geologists studying ocean sedimentation rates, suggesting they are unaware that a former atmospheric canopy controlled global precipitation in a gentle way, differing significantly from current storm-driven patterns. The author contends that the absence of this canopy now leads to increased erosion and sedimentation, aligning with ancient legends of a milder "golden age" and a different interpretation of the geological record. Ultimately, the article aims to challenge prevailing geological understandings by proposing the "Canopy Factor" as a more comprehensive explanation for past climate and sedimentation, referencing both scientific data and ancient texts.
