Abstract
All bodies are assumed to consist of electric charges. The inertial reaction force acting backwards on an accelerated body is shown to be a magnetically induced electric force acting on the charges. Inertial mass is then associated with that reaction force and acceleration in accordance with Newtons second and third laws. This deduction is considered to have potential in a possible reinterpretation of the foundations of modern physics.
