Abstract
This article discusses several examples of remarkable adaptations in plants and animals and suggests that the complexity and intricacy of these adaptations point to an intelligent design by God, rather than random mutation and natural selection. The author states that while he doesn't discount the role of mutation and natural selection, he believes these forces are negative, while the directing hand of God plays a more purposeful role. Examples of remarkable adaptations discussed in the article include the pollination systems of orchids, the adaptations of deep-diving mammals, and the electric organs in fish. The author concludes that while many of these adaptations are remarkable and can be explained away as arising from need, some are so intricate and complex that it is difficult to imagine them evolving gradually through natural selection
