Abstract
This article explains how carbon-14 dating is used to determine the age of organic remains. The article then outlines potential errors in the method. One source of error is the assumption that cosmic radiation has been constant. This affects the amount of carbon-14 produced. Another potential source of error is the assumption that the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has been constant. If these assumptions are false, carbon-14 dates may be inaccurate.
