Abstract

This is "highly speculative and the gap between a rich organic environment with all the necessary precursors, including even polypeptides and nucleic acids, and the simplest organized life remains immense." We would suggest that this "gap" will become even more immense as knowledge accumulates about singlecelled organisms like E. coli.
