Abstract

This article critically examines radiocarbon dating, a method used to estimate the age of organic materials. White argues that the method's accuracy relies on several questionable assumptions, such as the constancy of cosmic radiation and atmospheric carbon-14 levels over tens of thousands of years. He contends that these assumptions are challenged by theories about ice ages and the impact of industrial pollution, leading to significant uncertainties, especially for dates exceeding 5,000 years. Finally, White proposes that the Biblical account of the Great Flood, along with its implications for pre-Flood atmospheric conditions, offers a more plausible explanation for discrepancies in radiocarbon dating results, especially regarding ages much older than the generally accepted 5,000 years.
